Very good natural red dye are rare. The colors of red onions and sprouts declines rapidly. Everyone thinks that beets for coloring should be good, but most can be got from them, if the substance is a kind of boring beige color. The beetroot has been removed.

Natural red dye cochineal is better to eat insects from cacti. You can collect it yourself when you live in the south-west, where the prickly pear in the wilderness, but otherwise you have to buy. The errors in red are as fluffy white coats that appear often in the cactus.

If you do not have cactus in your yard, you can order dried cochineal Aurora Silk or Dharma Trading Company. You will not find in a craft store. It is much more concentrated than most natural dyes instead is dyed to an amount of dye that weighs as much as the material used, you only need one or two tablespoons. Unlike most natural dyes, dealing with cotton, not only in the wool.

Cochineal bugs are also in red lipstick ystrawberry flavored yogurt. In the list of ingredients, look for "Carmine". Many people who eat food, red, or even know that they eat insects.
